About
Dr. Randell grew up in Queens and Long Island, NY. He
received a BS in Biology from Cornell University in 1972 and an MA in neurobiology and animal
behavior from UCLA in 1973. He achieved his DVM degree from the University of Missouri in 1979. Dr.
Randell pursued an internship in small animal medicine and surgery followed by a residency in
internal medicine and neurology at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. At the AMC he was
also responsible for the care of exotic pets. After leaving the Animal Medical Center he was the
staff internist at County Animal Clinic in Yonkers, NY. In 1984 he joined Somers Animal Hospital,
soon becoming a partner. Dr. Randell achieved Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary
Internal Medicine in 1985. As well as specializing in internal medicine, he has expertise in
gastrointestinal endoscopy and ultrasonography. He lives with his wife Kathy and has 3 grown
children. He shares his home with his animal companions of 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a small parrot.

About
Dr. Walker received a BA degree from the University of
Colorado at Boulder in 1992 and a DVM degree from Ross University in 2001. He spent one year at the
College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri, where he finished his clinical
training. He then joined the staff at Somers Animal Hospital becoming a partner in 2008. Dr. Walker
has achieved specialty board certification by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in
Canine and Feline practice. He is certified in physical rehabilitation and medical acupuncture, and
is credentialed in regenerative medicine. He has extensive training in diagnostic ultrasonography,
and soft tissue surgery including minimally invasive laparoscopy. He shares his home with his 3
dogs, 1 hedgehog, 3 fish, 5 Guinea Pigs and a hamster.

swimming, reading.

About
Dr. Kate Hallquest was a valued SAH team member for years
before and during veterinary medical school and has now returned as an experienced clinician.
She
received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Stonehill College in 2008 and her DVM degree
from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013, after completing her year of clinical
training at Louisiana State University. Dr. Hallquest then went on to complete a rigorous one-year
rotating internship at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in New York. She also spent three years
practicing in Brooklyn, NY, before returning to Somers Animal Hospital in 2017. Dr. Hallquest shares
her home with her husband and their two dogs, Kane and Cheza.

Christina has been with SAH since 2011. She graduated with
a BS in Biomedical Sciences from Marist College in 2010, with a focus in pre-veterinary studies. A
native of Westchester County, NY, she has shared her home with all manner of animals; from pocket
pets, to lizards, to dogs and presently a British Shorthair cat named Ciocco. Always striving to
grow, Christina can regularly be found diving into new learning opportunities and medical procedures
or lending a hand in fine-tuning hospital protocols.

Catherine has been with SAH since July of 2002. She shares
her home with her animal companions Oliver, Maggie, Murphy, 5 beloved Hermit Crabs, 4 snails, and
fish.

Before earning her degree and license in Veterinary
Technology, Victoria was a veterinary assistant for seven years. She graduated from SUNY Ulster’s
Veterinary Technology program in 2015, after she finished her externship at Oradell Animal Hospital
in New Jersey. Victoria joined the SAH staff in 2017. She shares her home with her animal companions
Simba, Jack, and Mush.
Hobbies: computer games.
